Each spring the ASUC, UC Berkeley’s independent student government, holds elections for its five executive seat positions, its 20-person senate, and any proposed referendums.
The executive seats include ASUC president, executive vice president, external affairs vice president and academic affairs vice president. This year, the historically dominant parties CalSERVE and Student Action are both running executive slates for the four partisan positions and senate slates, alongside the Defend Affirmative Action Party. Two independent candidates are running for ASUC senate and one independent candidate is running for ASUC president.
2016 ASUC elections will take place April 4, 5 and 6.
