Voting is a chore. Voting takes time. Voting won’t make a difference. These are all common explanations, or excuses, for not participating in election cycles.

After efforts by various campus groups and public interest organizations to successfully register more than 5,000 students to vote, only a small fraction of those students actually turned in their ballots to cast their votes in the 2018 midterm election.

Having a part in the process that nudges the political compass that ultimately affects your life is a heavy weight to bear.
