UC Berkeley students demand tech giant Palantir drop contracts with ICE

In an effort to disrupt immigration authorities’ tech talent pipeline, more than 1,400 students are vowing not to work for Silicon Valley software giant Palantir until the company cancels its contracts with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

Privacy Law Scholars Conference decides not to seek support from Palantir Technologies

The program committee of the Privacy Law Scholars Conference, which took place on May 30 and 31, decided not to seek support from Palantir Technologies, a private American software company specializing in big data analytics, because a “significant minority” of participants in the conference were “uncomfortable” with the sponsorship.

UC appeals decision that both parties in CRISPR-Cas9 lawsuit can maintain patents

The University of California filed an appeal April 12 to overturn the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s, or PTAB’s, decision that there was no interference between the university’s and the Broad’s patent applications for CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing technology.
