The California College Republicans, or CCR, released its 2018 platform this month, outlining its stance on a number of hot-button issues including free speech at universities, college tuition and diversity training programs.

The rally began with speakers from various student groups, set to a drum circle. A crowd then marched up to the unaffiliated fraternity house Delta Kappa Epsilon, or DKE — the same fraternity that Kavanaugh was in while at Yale University.

As practical and morally upright as terming myself a moderate felt, it also felt facetious and insincere. What did I actually stand for? I found myself defending the feasibility of the “middle ground.” But what did I actually believe in?

Chancellor Carol Christ released a statement Monday outlining the campus’s next steps in updating its policy regarding free speech events, including the designation of free speech zones and increasing communication between administration and the campus community.

Campus English professor David Landreth emailed Dean of Students Joseph Greenwell and an unnamed member of the Berkeley College Republicans, or BCR, with a personal appeal to postpone the Yiannopoulos event, fearing threats of violence, according to emails obtained by The Daily Californian by a California Public Records Act request.

The reform plan also proposed consolidating parts of the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture into the Environmental Protection Agency, and merging the National Marine Fisheries Service with the Fish and Wildlife Service, to improve federal wildlife and fisheries policies.

A federal judge denied UC Berkeley's request to dismiss a lawsuit alleging that the campus discriminated against conservative speakers Wednesday.

District Judge Maxine Chesney ruled Wednesday that the plaintiffs, Young America’s Foundation, or YAF, and Berkeley College Republicans, or BCR, adequately alleged that campus administrators applied broad “major events” policies to suppress conservative speech.
