Berkeley fire and police units responded to a fire in a residential apartment building on Berkeley Way, according to an alert from BPD at 5:09 p.m. Monday.

Demolition is currently underway for the University Garage, a landmarked garage and gas station, in order to accommodate more housing for UC Berkeley students.
