The San Francisco Pride Parade returned Sunday after two years of pandemic cancellations and community members representing UC Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, or Berkeley Lab, joined the march down Market Street.

Despite the federal Department of Education’s recent decision to ignore discrimination complaints, UC Berkeley will continue to adhere to guidelines surrounding gender-inclusive bathroom facilities, according to director of The Gender Equity Resource Center Billy Curtis.

A volunteer at the Pacific Center for Human Growth on Telegraph Avenue was assaulted Friday after trying to stop an individual from allegedly setting fire to a rainbow flag displayed outside the building.
