The mentorship program will partner mentees with professional mentors of different genders and professional backgrounds. The program aims to make the blockchain community a “less intimidating” space for female-identifying individuals of all experience levels by connecting them with mentors from a variety of backgrounds.

UC Berkeley receives first-ever bitcoin donation valued at more than $50K

UC Berkeley’s Blockchain Lab received a donation Wednesday worth more than $50,000 in the form of bitcoin, a prominent virtual currency and worldwide payment system. The electronic donation, gifted by the EchoLink Foundation, is the first of its kind at both the Blockchain Lab and on campus.

ASUC Pirate Party Senator no longer enrolled at UC Berkeley, set to resign

ASUC Senator Sunny Aggarwal, who represents the Pirate Party, is set to resign from his Senate seat because he is no longer an enrolled student at UC Berkeley this semester. The seat will remain vacant until votes from last semester’s elections are re-tabulated and a new Senator is elected to replace him.
