BridgeUSA at Berkeley

Tonight, this year's ASUC executive candidates and referendum proponents will speak at The Daily Californian and BridgeUSA at Berkeley's ASUC elections forum.

Berkeley City Council District 6 candidates responded to questions concerning climate change and housing, among other topics, at an Oct. 23 town hall.  

On Friday, three of the four candidates in the District 2 Berkeley City Council race discussed their platforms during a town hall hosted by BridgeUSA at Berkeley and the ASUC Office of the External Affairs Vice President.

With four weeks until the Nov. 3 election, city of Berkeley mayoral candidates Wayne Hsiung, Aidan Hill and incumbent Mayor Jesse Arreguín gathered virtually for a debate moderated and organized by BridgeUSA at Berkeley and The Daily Californian.

UC Berkeley sophomore Pranav Jandhyala is running for California State Assembly District 15 as the only republican on the ballot, among 12 other candidates.

The UC Berkeley campus typically allocates about $200,000 each year to manage protests, but in fiscal year 2016-2017, it spent almost $900,000 responding to protests, as first reported by the Chronicle of Higher Education.

A lawsuit filed Monday, demanding more than $23 million in relief and damages, alleges campus and university officials violated federal law and campus policies during its handling of the Feb. 1 Milo Yiannopoulos campus protest.
