The Bears’ bye week didn’t seem to help the team prepare for Oregon and Colorado this past weekend, as Cal lacrosse came back from the road trip 0-2.

Bears lacrosse hoping for strong start to road trip

Cal lacrosse is back in action after its bye week and will head out of state to face off against Oregon and Colorado. Cal will hope to keep the wins coming as it takes on Oregon at Papé Field at 5 p.m. Friday.

Cal lacrosse aims to regain confidence in first Pac-12 road games

USC will be Cal’s third straight ranked opponent, so hopefully, for the Bears, the games against Colorado and Stanford will come in handy in preparing for USC. After the game against USC, Cal will head out of the state to take on ASU on Monday at 4 p.m.

Despite the loss, the Bears played one of their best games so far this season. Cal led Stanford in shots, draw controls and turnovers Saturday, which is usually a recipe for success.

Cal lacrosse shows improvement in first conference games

Cal’s defense managed to record 20 ground balls and allowed a season-low seven goals to Oregon. The dominant defensive performance allowed the offense to hold the ball more and put up a ton of shots, leading to the 10-0 run.

Cal lacrosse aims to expand winning streak with 1st conference games

First on the Bears’ schedule for the weekend is Oregon with a start time of 5 p.m. Friday. The Ducks are 2-3 going into conference play, one game under .500 — just like the Bears are. Both teams will be fighting not only to start conference play 1-0 but also to be at the .500 mark on the season.

The Bears’ ability to close conference 3-4 after a four-game losing streak to start the season shows the relentlessness of the team and their ability to fight back. A three-game winning streak going into conference play means a lot for Cal.
