Berkeley school board discusses reopening plans, drafts gender policy

The school board recognized the polarization of opinions on whether and how to reopen schools, and Julie Sinai said 'intelligent and intentional' work will be needed in order to reopen safely.

The BUSD Board continued conversations of reopening plans and spotlighted plans to aid marginalized groups at Wednesday’s meeting.

Multiple arrests, 1 injury occur during protest of Ann Coulter event at UC Berkeley

Wednesday’s demonstration that attracted more than a thousand protestors in opposition to conservative author Ann Coulter’s immigration policy speech on campus resulted in several arrests, one reported injury and a human barricade that surrounded the entire venue.

On one side were conservative demonstrators — led by Trump supporter Amber Cummings — who believe that they were participating in a righteous crusade to rid UC Berkeley of its leftist hegemony. On the other side were left-wing groups that call themselves “anti-fascists” while making true fascists proud of their attempts at censorship.
