Berkeley rape reports spike 44 percent from 2016 to 2017, preliminary FBI data shows

Reports of rape in Berkeley increased by 44 percent between 2016 and 2017, from 27 to 39 cases, according to preliminary data released by the FBI.

Among the student organizations pushing flyers and selling donuts on Sproul Plaza, students at an unassuming table are offering free condoms, dental dams and their voices this week to promote a culture of consent on campus and end sexual violence.
