Nothing is more fitting than to say that Saturday’s game will determine if Cal has the capacity to navigate the road to the national championship.

Navy resoundingly responded to the Bears’ first-half successes, scoring 21 unanswered points to forge a 33-14 lead with just 15 minutes to go in the second frame.

After an impressive win over Army, 2022 national champion, Cal rugby hits the road to finish the season. This three-game road trip will first bring the Bears to Annapolis, Maryland to face the Midshipmen of Navy.

A large crowd – including the Cal band – packed Witter Rugby Field’s stands to see the Bears defeat the reigning D1A champions in Army.

Now, Cal’s gears are switched to its game against Army, which holds a 7-2 record but has not lost since a matchup against Lindenwood in November. The Black Knights will be keen to end Cal’s invincible season.

In a cloudy and grinding homecoming match on Saturday, Cal rugby pulled away in the second half to secure a win against the Arizona Wildcats, 36-17.

The Bears will look to protect home field and their undefeated record at Homecoming this Saturday. 

The Bears hold all the cards to preserve their undefeated record and gain some precious momentum in the middle of this XVs season.

To a crowd full of supporters for Parents Weekend, Cal began to pull away at the end of the first half to blow out the Bruins.

This Saturday, Cal Rugby will host UCLA in the Bears’ second of five straight home games at Witter Rugby Field. For the Bears, who are no strangers to the Bruins, this weekend will also mark the second time that the two programs will square off this season.
