Prop. 19 to fund fire response with property tax dollars if passed

Proposition 19, if passed by California voters in November, will expand property tax exemptions for certain homeowners in the state, including seniors and disabled individuals. The proposition would also establish a state fund that is dedicated to fire response.
If passed in November, Proposition 19 will allow California homeowners to keep their current property tax rates when moving within the state and change tax rules for inherited properties.
