People hoping to access the Downtown Berkeley BART entrance on Shattuck Avenue and Center Street will be disappointed. As part of a $7.6 million renovation effort, the main entrance’s characteristic rotunda has been torn down and is set to be replaced.

Man arrested for alleged ice pick stabbing, charges not filed

Berkeley Police Department arrested a suspect Thursday evening on suspicion of stabbing a victim with an ice pick near Center Street and Shattuck Avenue, but the Alameda County District Attorney declined to file charges against the suspect.
