No, you might not get into the most posh consulting club your first semester on campus, but it won’t be the end of the world.

Tabling can be stressful—especially when it seems like no one is interested in what you have to advertise. So, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite techniques that you can try the next time you’re out flyering and low on takers. 

My day doesn’t end when classes do. There’s always food that needs to be cooked, assignments that need to be completed and emails that need to be responded to. It seems like 24 hours in a day is never going to be enough. So, while I’m at it, here’s a power ranking of the things I do after class. 

I did get into UC Berkeley in the end, but college decisions were a huge reality check for me. And it also brought into conflict two aspects of my personality: the confidence in my academic ability, and my lack thereof in pretty much anything else.

Maybe I was at ease, or maybe I was exhausted, but my mind reclined into a relaxed state. Through the exhaustion, tears, and anger, I had somehow found peace.

The UC Berkeley community has a lot to offer students who are passionate about social and environmental issues. On a large — sometimes overwhelming — campus, it’s important to find support and community among fellow students with similar interests and values.

As I packed and headed back down the peninsula, both my car and heart felt a little more full. Staff shirts and various club lanyards shoved between moving boxes had become my own personal metrics for belonging.

This is the time to intentionally do things that make us happy. As another school semester approaches, here are ways to avoid burnout and stay passionate.

Turning 21 is a significant experience. Here's a list of a few places in Berkeley where any students of legal age can partake in some 21-and-older fun!

But here, it seems the scent in the air is of hyperprofessionalism where any trace of genuine passion gets lost in the wind.
