California’s wildfire season has begun, and along with it come ventilation and air quality risks that might pose a problem in combination with COVID-19 safety protocols. 

Animal rights activists representing the group Direct Action Everywhere, or DxE, dyed a fountain on Sproul Plaza red Monday and called on UC Berkeley to commit to stop purchasing from meat suppliers that allegedly raise animals on factory farms.

On Monday morning, three UC Berkeley students associated with DxE locked themselves inside of Crossroads to demand that UC Berkeley "drop factory farms."

For those of us eating in the dining halls, we’re reaching the point in the semester where the novelty of all-you-can-eat soft serve is wearing off.

On the first day of the three-day strike by the UC’s largest employee union — the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, or AFSCME, Local 3299 — union members rallied, marched through the UC Berkeley campus and formed picket lines Tuesday.

A Facebook post on the page “Overheard at UC Berkeley” showed pictures of the salad bar vents at the Crossroads dining hall Sept. 19, with a caption alleging mold was growing in the vents — but a Cal Dining employee stated that it was not mold.
