Analyzing the distribution of funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act to California hospitals, UC Berkeley researchers found that smaller hospitals are struggling because funds were issued based on revenue.

A recent study by UC Berkeley’s Petris Center found that many of California’s smaller or rural hospitals are struggling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic because of lacking federal aid.
