Berkeley College Republicans were subject to a theft Thursday afternoon, and some new members have since received harassing emails from an anonymous sender.

Milo Yiannopoulos announced Saturday that he still intends to make an appearance at UC Berkeley even though his event Wednesday was canceled by UCPD.

Twelve UC Berkeley professors sent a letter to Chancellor Nicholas Dirks requesting that campus administration cancel Berkeley College Republican’s event for Milo Yiannopoulos.

BCR invited Yiannopoulos to visit the campus as part of his 18-stop tour across U.S. colleges. His impending visit has generated controversy across the campus community given his straightforwardness and extreme conservative views. UCPD has determined the $10,000 to be a rough assessment of the costs of security, according to campus spokesperson Dan Mogulof.
