Research and development law may help Berkeley startups stay local

Berkeley City Council is redefining research and development by expanding the definition of a research and development facility, giving startups more flexibility.

Berkeley City Council adopted a new law March 22 updating the definition of Research and Development, or R&D, in the city’s Zoning Ordinance.
