Seismic concerns have come to the front of many campus community members' minds in recent months, leaving them worried about the potential effects of an earthquake after six campus buildings were found to have a severe implied risk to life.

6 UC Berkeley buildings found to be 'seismically deficient' after seismic evaluation
Due to UC seismic safety policy revisions that were adopted in 2017, all buildings in the UC system must be assessed. Those deemed seismically deficient will be “retrofitted, replaced or vacated no later than the year 2030,” Christ said in a statement.
