UC Berkeley researchers report challenges, solutions facing artificial intelligence

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science faculty members and researchers from UC Berkeley’s Real-Time Intelligent Secure Execution Lab, or RISELab, released a report Monday outlining challenges facing the progress of artificial intelligence technologies, as well as some ways to address them.

Smart bandage shows early tissue damage not visible to the eyes

A team of engineers at UC Berkeley and medical researchers in UC San Francisco have created a “smart bandage” prototype that can detect skin tissue damage in its early stages, allowing medical professionals to discover pressure ulcers and bed sores before they become permanent.

Researchers at UC Berkeley and other universities are building “Robo Brain,” an online system where robots can access a single, global database collected from the Internet to learn how to perform human tasks.
