UC Berkeley faculty raises concerns about ventilation in Dwinelle, Wheeler halls

Campus faculty members are expressing concerns over the poor ventilation of both Wheeler and Dwinelle halls, especially in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. UCPD claims that the windows in the halls, which can only open a few inches, were modified to prevent people from going on rooftops.

As UC Berkeley prepares to resume in-person instruction in the fall, several faculty members have raised concerns over poor ventilation in Dwinelle Hall and Wheeler Hall, posing questions about safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Time stands still: Campanile clock takes a break

In this case, it was the north-facing clock that was broken, with the other three clocks still reporting the right time. Karen Lobo, associate director of Facilities Services, said the clock was broken because of a failed motor. Campus Facilities Services had a backup motor, which was installed, and the failed motor was sent out for refurbishment.
