With increasing political engagement and voter turnout, our generation has become more engrossed and animated in politics. That should be encouraged as we challenge the merits of these institutions, but that does not warrant a complete overhaul of any system without an in-depth reflection on its existence and the consequences. 

The #StopWillow movement has ignited a generation to come together to fight for a livable planet in the face of direct threats from politicians and corporations. 

To me, it seems to be a combination of social media and the general “aura” of smoking as a social activity.

There are exploitations everywhere, but the challenge is being cognizant of how we sit amid someone being complicit in someone else’s oppression, even when we are also oppressed.

As the 2022 midterm elections near, a question looms: will UC Berkeley students’ voices be heard this November?

There is certainly overlap between the cultural zeitgeists between our two generations, but if I were to choose to belong to either one, it would unquestionably be Generation Z.

By virtue of their platform, influencers can silence dissent and direct their “followers” to do just that: follow them in a unilaterally charted direction.

As a public institution serving youth, UC Berkeley and the entire UC system must capitalize on this political fervor and give students the time to vote. 

Punctuation marks are pretty objective in their purpose within the world of written (and spoken) language. But in an age dominated by the internet, memes and the universal need for speed, these marks have evolved into characters of their own.

Many people use technology to socialize, to navigate, to date. Look up, and you’ll see that this technology is relied on for much of what we do these days.
