Sproul Plaza piano vandalized by unknown perpetrator

Almost all of the keys were smashed into the keyboard so they can no longer be pulled up, and it is likely, according to campus junior Jonas Katona, that most of the hammers inside of the piano are broken.

Former UC Berkeley student recovers from hit-and-run through GoFundMe donations

Wendy Mejia, who withdrew her enrollment from UC Berkeley this semester but plans to return as a campus senior, created a GoFundMe campaign to help finance her medical bills and other costs relating to her recovery from a car accident — and as of press time, Mejia has raised $2,350 of her $5,000 goal.

Berkeley Medical Reallocation Initiative sends $1.27M to international hospitals in need

Founded by campus juniors Ali Farzad and Garrett Barnett, the nonprofit student group’s goal is to take the extra medical supplies from hospitals in the United States and give the supplies to countries that lack those resources.

A GoFundMe campaign created by Bella Vita Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing animals from kill shelters, has raised $21,946 of its $50,000 goal.

39th annual UC Berkeley Powwow prepares for event with GoFundMe

The 39th annual UC Berkeley Powwow, set to be held April 7 and complete with various forms of traditional dancing, a scavenger hunt for children and popular Native foods, is currently raising money to rent a space and to use on other expenditures with a GoFundMe page.

Following the spread of 17 wildfires across the North Bay, which have destroyed roughly 1,500 buildings and killed at least 23, East Bay companies and student groups have mobilized to help victims of the wildfires.

GoFundMe for hot dog street vendor Beto raises more than $86K

After a street vendor who goes by the name Beto was given a citation and had his money taken away by UCPD Officer Sean Aranas outside of a Cal football game Sept. 9, a GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $86,000 for him.
