Attempted robbery takes place on Hearst Avenue, Berkeley police report

A 26-year-old UC Berkeley student was walking on Hearst Avenue about 11:15 p.m. Sunday when a car stopped next to him and a male suspect got out, demanding the man’s money, according to an email from Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, spokesperson Officer Byron White.

City Council to discuss Upper Hearst updates, vehicle dweller program

Berkeley City Council will convene at its regular Tuesday meeting to discuss drafting a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report, or SEIR, for Upper Hearst Development, a referral for the creation of a “vehicle dweller program” and support for SCA-1, which expedites public housing projects.

Berkeley police arrest 2 after traffic stop reveals loaded handgun, drugs

A routine traffic enforcement stop performed by Berkeley Police Department officers Wednesday afternoon ended in two arrests after a search of the car yielded a weapon and multiple drugs, according to a Nixle alert released by BPD on Monday afternoon.
