Former UC Berkeley political science professor Raymond Wolfinger dies at 83

Remembered by family and colleagues for his intellectual vibrancy, Wolfinger authored several seminal works in his field — from analyzing patterns of voter turnout to exploring the ways political machines were not responsive to certain groups of voters. His works were considered classics by many, including Goldman School of Public Policy Dean Henry Brady, who felt that Wolfinger’s passing marked the “end of an era in UC Berkeley political science.”

Napolitano awarded tenured faculty spot at UC Berkeley

Following chancellor Nicholas Dirks’ approval of her appointment, Napolitano secured a tenured faculty position at the Goldman School of Public Policy. She will not be compensated for the new position until the end of her term as UC President.
