Hookup culture presented me with the power to never truly experience rejection and to assimilate into teenage norms.

So, growing up with hearing only horror stories — and now hearing only the fairy tales — begs the question in my mind: Are dating apps really that bad? 

Apparently, people find love under the gloomy skies. But people are breaking up left and right and I have a theory as to why. 

I remember smiling a lot, not necessarily because of the hookup, but because I was proud that I was allowing myself to finally live and to experience simple pleasures instead of being stuck in constant rigidity.

I came to the conclusion that men don’t prioritize the sexual pleasure of their partners, but rather, their focus is largely centered on their own sexual gratification.

In the past, they suffered from the pressure to keep virginity. Nowadays, pressure comes from both sides — we’re expected to both keep and get rid of virginity.
