House Fund

The UC Board of Regents met Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss AI investments, immigration status and work-study jobs, ableism training for faculty and staff and budget reports. The board also voted to unanimously approve UC Berkeley’s new College of Computing, Data Science and Society, or CDSS.

The House — a startup institute exclusively for UC Berkeley students, alumni and staff — launched Wednesday at 2560 Bancroft Way, the former student store.

The Bay Area is filled with successful startups created by campus alumni — TubeMogul, Caviar and Indiegogo, to name a few — but until recently, aspiring UC Berkeley entrepreneurs did not have access to funding allocated specifically for them.
