Having lived in the heart of Silicon Valley my entire life, I’ve always known that I wanted to start my own startup. UC Berkeley’s reputation for its students having founded more companies than any other university in the world is one of the main factors that influenced my decision to attend.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the makerspaces of UC Berkeley's CITRIS Invention Lab and Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation have added remote services and are not requiring Maker Passes for access to services during the fall 2020 semester.

As the campus gears up to begin constructing a new design innovation building near Soda Hall, some students and vocal protesters have occupied the site, stating concerns over the removal of redwood trees and the project’s alleged association with QualComm.
