After hours upon hours of practice, reps, races and meets, Cal has made it to the end of the 2023 track and field season. Now, 18 talented Bears have punched their tickets to Austin, Texas from June 7-10 with hopes of finishing the season strong.

After a strong campaign at the Pac-12 championships, the Bears’ next quest lies ahead as the outdoor season comes to a head. The Bears will travel to Sacramento to compete in the NCAA West Regionals from May 24-27.

Competing at the Pac-12 championships, both of Cal’s teams, the men and women, took fourth place. It was none other than the Cal throwing squad that carried the team with four podium finishes.

This Saturday Cal track and field will keep the rivalry alive as it heads to Stanford for the Cardinal Classic. After a faulty start to the outdoor season at the Cal Opener earlier this month, this invitational will mark the season debut for the majority of the team.

With the closing of a historic indoor season, the Bears now welcome the outdoor season with open arms. On Saturday, Edwards Stadium will be brought back to life as the Bears compete on their home turf.

Battling at the penultimate meet of the indoor season, junior Jada Hicks and sophomore David Foster earned two program records. Many Bears did not make the cut for nationals, but notable performances were still seen across the board.

Representing in Washington and New Mexico, the Bears had their most memorable weekend yet of the indoor season with five program records and a sub-four-minute mile time.

This weekend Cal excelled in New Mexico with sophomore athletes dominating across events and making history.

The lineup reveals an obvious weak spot: Not a single member of Cal’s distance squad qualified for NCAA championships.
