The UC Board of Regents convened Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss funding and investments, listen to wage concerns, address mandatory compliance training and more.

On Jan. 17, the University of California’s Office of the Chief Investment Officer of the Regents, or UC Investments, announced a partnership with the Toigo Foundation to fund 20 fellowships for UC graduate students.

The University of California invested $4 billion in the Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, Inc on Tuesday, planning for a long-term strategic investment. 

The UC system’s patent tracking system will be entirely replaced with a new intellectual property management system within the next five years.

The investments committee of the UC Board of Regents convened Tuesday to discuss fiscal performance and diversity, equity and inclusion investments. 

The UC Board of Regents Committee on Investments reviewed the current performance of the UC system’s investment portfolios at its open meeting Tuesday.

The UC Board of Regents met in a hybrid format for the first day of their November meetings Tuesday, hearing public comment and a presentation about the Southern California Hub, as well as discussing the 2021-22 fiscal year.

In their first day of fall meetings, the UC Regents heard public comment, reviewed the university’s investment portfolios and discussed recent developments at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. 

The UC Regents Investments Committee met virtually Wednesday to discuss UC investments, diversity and inclusion in UC workplaces and the future investment in real estate, among other topics.

To kick off this week’s virtual meetings, the UC Board of Regents approved a pension asset allocation proposal and discussed how to support basic needs on campuses and create sustainable and diverse investment partnerships Tuesday.
