While the traditional cold opening of the film is refreshing and invitingly misleading, Scream VI attempts to do more with the slasher movie template than it can offer.

“Wednesday” loses some of the charm that many associate with the Addams Family in favor of modernization, making the portrayal of the family jarring at times, but “Wednesday” succeeds and is entertaining in its own right.

His film, which follows a group of young adult-film workers, reenvisions the golden age of the slasher flick; the period that transformed the horror genre and washed over the American psyche like a massive, unavoidable wave.

While predictability is usually the bane of an enticing story, “The Fallout” is sneakily aware of itself, lulling viewers into its steady rhythm then pouncing on them come the close.
