As the Bears come off two devastating losses against the Beavers and the Huskies, the rest of Pac-12 play is looking like anything but good for Cal.

Continuing its Pac-12 conference series on Sept. 19, the Bears look to collect a win in their stint away from the Bay against UCLA.

A reversal of the early season misfortunes has proven head coach Kevin Grimes’ philosophy to be true. The Bears are just a few steps away from becoming the team they set out to be during their abbreviated preseason.

After losing two games in a row, the Bears will aim to reignite their defense and their season against San Francisco.

They say that if you aim for the king, you best not miss. Last Friday, Cal hosted its rival, No. 2 Stanford, and miss they did.

Cal’s next challenge will be a step up, as they travel down the coast this weekend to take on fellow public school UC Santa Barbara in a difficult atmosphere.
