UC Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies receives $10M gift

The Helen Diller Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies received a $10 million endowment gift from the Helen Diller Family Foundation.

The gift will go toward funding visitors and the undergraduate fellows program, broadening outreach and expanding courses and programs of the institute.

Tucked in the corner of the Hearst Field Annex building is the Fannie Lou Hamer Black Resource Center, one of the various resources for the Black community at UC Berkeley. As a part of UC Berkeley’s African American Student Development, the center serves the academic, social, cultural and political needs of the campus Black community.

Campus officials announce elimination of $150M deficit

Chancellor Carol Christ announced Monday in a campuswide email that UC Berkeley reached a balanced budget, ending the $150 million deficit and also raised $1.2 billion in revenue from “two consecutive, record-breaking years of fundraising.”
