Cal’s afternoon of personal bests and broken records was headlined by its bars rotation, which tied an all-time NCAA record and moved the Bears into a tie with Florida for the best bars program in the nation.

While they dropped the lead after the second rotation, the blue and gold rallied to finish their night in Salt Lake City with a historic beam rotation.

In its second away dual meet of the season, Cal notched a season high and the fourth-highest score in program history. The Bears will look to stay undefeated against the Red Rocks on Friday.

A slew of career highs propelled the Bears to a red-hot performance in which they led from the opening event and earned a 197.100.

The Sun Devils certainly have the skills to keep Cal on its toes, and the Bears will rely on their usual suspects to deliver a win.

In their first meet on the road, the Bears toppled the Wildcats with a score of 196.075 to 194.875. Cal improved on beam and floor after earning subpar scores last week against Air Force.

On Saturday, Cal is set to face Arizona in Tucson. The contest will be the blue and gold’s first against a Pac-12 opponent following their lone nonconference meet last weekend.

After 335 days without competition, the blue and gold won by a score of 195.75-188.95 and demonstrated social responsibility with their COVID-19 protocols.
