Campus Director of Communications Kyle Gibson said in an email that the school announced the plan to build the Beach Volleyball Courts in 2018 as part of the campus’ efforts to remain compliant with Title IX, a federal law that requires gender equity in educational programs. The underused recreation field at the Clark Kerr Campus will be used to establish four courts, an additional support building and a lawn area for spectators, Gibson said.
