Cal comes home to host the MPSF Invitational with hopes of keeping its perfect record alive, a welcome sight after playing nine of its 10 games on the road.

Because of its recent game cancellations due to COVID-19, Cal is ready to rebound against UCI on Sept. 16 and Long Beach State on Sept. 19.

After a loss to Stanford, Cal's offense erupted for seven runs at Long Beach State, only to lose 3-2 in the last game of Saturday's double header.

When looking at this head-to-head matchup, it is difficult to point out the Dons’ biggest advantage over Cal, as they have so many to choose from.

The Bears are on an impressive five-game winning streak after dropping their first two games of the season to Harvard and UConn.

The Pac-12 championships in Los Angeles start Thursday with the No. 3-seed Bears first slated to face the unranked Arizona State Sun Devils in an early afternoon matchup.

This performance made them the only pair that went 3-0 on the weekend, displaying their effectiveness for the team.

If the Bears hit hard from the start, they may be able to destabilize their opponent and take themselves one step closer to NCAA qualification.

The next day proved more successful for Cal as the team took on Washington in the early afternoon and No. 20 Stanford a couple of hours later.
