Once I started realizing these foundational cracks, I began wondering what my life would be like without him. In fact, I fantasized about it.

They had been dating for a little more than a year when their separation began. Outside of their sporadic meet-ups, they would talk on FaceTime almost every night. But their nightly calls soon became dull.

No number of letters could warm the empty side of the bed. My “I love yous” failed to satisfy her; it was a task successful only between the sheets.

Everyone is in some sort of a long-distance relationship right now, and I’m no exception.

I’ve been in a long-distance relationship for the past seven months, and I want to share with you what I’ve learned so far that’s been really helpful in making it work.

Consider your fleeting time together gone, and move on. It wasn’t enough then, and it’s not going to be enough now.
