UC Berkeley Graduate Assembly discusses defunding UCPD, endorses Prop. 15

On Thursday, Graduate Assembly delegates passed a resolution in support of Proposition 15, which would tax commercial and industrial properties valued at more than $3 million at their market values to increase funding for local governments and schools.

For Graduate Assembly delegates, defunding UCPD and supporting graduate students amid the COVID-19 pandemic are priorities, as discussed with UC Berkeley administration at the assembly’s meeting Thursday.

Graduate Assembly elects 2020-21 executive board via Zoom

The Graduate Assembly held elections for its executive board for next year via Zoom, while elections for the Graduate Council were postponed until May. Despite the meeting being held remotely, procedures, discussions and votes were able to occur similarly to regular in-person meetings.
