While this seems to be a set up of high emotions and tumultuous melodrama, “Frankie” moves at a slow pace so that the characters have the appropriate space and scenes to give a glimpse into their issues without overshadowing Frankie and her own dilemma, which Huppert portrays with graceful, almost regal, ambivalence.
