UC Berkeley report shows increasing number of Democratic voters in CA

According to a UC Berkeley study, while the number of registered voters in California has increased by 8.5 million people since 19990, the number of Republicans who are registered in California has remained at 5.3 million people. The study also revealed that the percentage of Latino and Asian voters in the state has significantly increased throughout the past 30 years.

A poll released Tuesday by UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies, or IGS, indicates that the past 30 years have seen a dramatic change in California’s racial and ethnic composition and a relative decline in the state’s Republican Party registration rate.
