Midterm elections might not determine the next president of the United States, but the upcoming elections still have a lot at stake for voters everywhere.

The Daily Californian held its first ever Midterm Elections Public Forum Friday for candidates running for city and school offices in the upcoming November election.

Mark Humbert, a federal employee benefits attorney and 20-year Berkeley resident, is running for the Berkeley District 8 City Council seat.

Berkeley City Council candidates for Southside and Claremont/Elmwood joined a virtual forum to discuss climate, housing and transportation Thursday.

Droste’s platform includes advocating for housing affordability, ensuring access to emergency care and helping growth in the commercial district in Elmwood, which is within District 8.

Wozniak is in the process of cleaning out his office in City Hall. He presides over District 8, which covers the Clark Kerr Campus and the majority of the Elmwood neighborhood and consists largely of homeowner residents.
