I didn’t purposefully make a playlist of rainy day songs — they all sort of came together based on that inexplicable feeling.

At that time, being Chinese was just a part of who I was, a culture and language I was proud of. As one of the only Asian kids in my grade, I knew most kids at school didn’t bring sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves for lunch or recite Li Bai’s poems at Saturday school. 

It is astounding that there have been more than 130 contestants on this show and only six who have found love, yet everyone still thinks the odds are in their favor.
