The ASUC Office of the President chief of staff and 2023-24 President-elect, Sydney Roberts, was found guilty on both charges of violating bylaws of the ASUC constitution by the Judicial Council on Friday.

Hearings for petitions against two ASUC presidential candidates are scheduled to occur April 21, and with discussion of these petitions and the 2023 ASUC general election still in the air, questions about the role of the ASUC Judicial Council arise.

Despite recent conversations surrounding the merits of political parties within the ASUC, ElevateCal secured two major positions within the ASUC executive slate at Friday’s tabulation ceremony. 

English and music double major and sophomore Mia Shelton is running for ASUC Academic Affairs Vice President, or AAVP, on platforms of holistic wellbeing, intellectual curiosity, inner ASUC collaboration and student-accessible committees.

Skyelar Montgomery, a sophomore studying legal studies with double minors in Race and the Law and political economy, is running for ASUC Senate.
