Hundreds of people filed into Wheeler Auditorium on Thursday night to witness the results of this year’s ASUC elections, driving the room to a fever pitch of cheers as votes were tallied on a projector screen.

The ASUC Elections Council has decided to file a charge against the Student Action executive slate for alleged bylaw violations related to unsolicited campaign emails and dropped recently filed charges against two ASUC Senate candidates.

Four more reports of alleged bylaw violations regarding unsolicited campaign emails by both ASUC executive and senatorial candidates have been filed, the ASUC Elections Council said Thursday.

As polling continues this week, candidates for the ASUC executive seats are tallying up last-minute votes, seeking to either distance themselves from or compare themselves to the individuals currently in the role.

Some of Student Action's presidential candidate Milad Razavi include proposing to streamline the UC system’s patent-licensing process so that lost revenue can go back to UC students and also implementing a new mentorship program for students.

At a forum hosted by the Daily Californian Tuesday night, candidates for ASUC executive offices debated approaches to improving campus climate, working with administrators and dealing with tuition hikes.

At an ASUC Elections Council meeting Friday, members of the council discussed complaints brought against two Student Action executive candidates running in the upcoming election.

The Student Action party announced on Wednesday night its candidates for President and External Affairs Vice President, including one student who has never been elected to an official ASUC office.
