Having suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against No. 31 UCLA in the Bruins’ backyard, Cal men’s soccer is determined to bounce back and reclaim its momentum.

After an eventful weekend the Bears are set to play No. 4 Washington State on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a match against Washington on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The sun was shining, the ball was flying and the Bears were biting. It was a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Menlo Country Club — perfect weather for Cal women’s golf to team with their male counterparts to face off with rival Stanford in the annual Big Match.

Cal Women’s Golf will participate in their third event of the year on Thursday, matching up with Stanford. This match will see the women join forces with the men in a combined effort to try and best Stanford for a third time in program history.

Having suffered a defeat and a draw in the last two games, Cal looked to strengthen its position in the Pac-12 picture after disappointing results.

The Bears took the field against the Lancers in Riverside on a calm Thursday evening. Rohan McEligot’s last-minute goal led Cal to its first away victory of the season.

After a mediocre performance in the first two games of the season, the Bears performed extraordinarily well in their first home game against Fairleigh Dickinson by winning 3-0.

After tying their first game, the Bears looked for their first win of the season against No. 18 Wake Forest. Nonetheless, no clear victor could be determined after a hard fought battle that ended in a draw.

The Cal volleyball season is set to begin with plenty of fresh new faces and lots of veteran hunger.

In its immediate impact, NIL shifted critical dynamics within college sports — it gave power to the players. Two years later, it is evident that the players have advantaged that power in several ways.
