In order to improve access to digital resources, campus recently launched a new committee made of students, staff and faculty which will focus on increasing digital accessibility for its 65,000-person community.

UC Berkeley students usually share concerns about schedules, waitlists and grading bins on the first day of the semester. However, campus senior Hannah Bailey was more concerned with finding a desk to accommodate her wheelchair.

With the resurgence of in-person instruction, many students with disabilities are feeling COVID-19’s presence encroaching on their lives.

A campuswide email — co-signed by Vice Chancellor of Administration Marc Fisher and Ella Callow, Disability Access and Compliance director — was sent Feb. 12 to update the campus community on the Office of Disability Access and Compliance’s first full year of operations.
