Campus sophomore Nathan Mizell will be filling in for former ASUC Executive Vice President Andy Theocharous for the rest of the semester.

The student body passed a student fee for increased transportation options and graduate students voted in support of the Graduate Assembly separating from the ASUC with two referendums.

UC Berkeley has a rich and diverse collection of clubs and organizations, such as the UC Berkeley Society of Women Engineers and Berkeley Women in Business, that aim to empower female-identifying students and help them enter male-dominated careers.

From April 6-8, the 2020 ASUC elections provide students with the opportunity to vote for candidates and two propositions: the Class Pass Student Fee Renewal and Graduate Student Government Independence referendums.

Apoorva Prakasha and Chaka Tellem are running for the ASUC Senate under the REBUILD coalition to represent women in STEM and the Black community, respectively.

Following Monday’s Bears for Palestine protest, tensions were high during the third ASUC Senate meeting of the semester Wednesday. Public comment speakers were present at the meeting, with most speakers standing in solidarity with BFP and condemning the ASUC’s handling of the situation.

The ASUC Senate Inter-Semester Committee met virtually Monday to discuss its pending contract with the Wall Street Journal.

On Jan. 3, the ASUC Senate Inter-Semester Committee held a brief virtual meeting mainly composed of a closed session in which the contract between the Wall Street Journal and the ASUC was discussed.
