“Cocaine Bear” adapts a true story from the 1980s into a dark comedy action film, and an instant classic, by posing a simple question: What would happen if a bear ate cocaine?

“Long Shot” is at its core a film about a woman needing a man to “have it all,” and this is simply not a narrative that we need in the year 2019.

With a satisfying plot-twist and a few good action sequences to lean on, “Den of Thieves” emerges from its own disorienting design as a modest success.

Plaza layers her performance of Ingrid with sadness and empathy, reminding us that we’re all a bit like her — after all, who hasn’t spent a little too long taking that Instagram photo or retyped a caption one too many times?
