Two pedestrians were hit and subsequently hospitalized after a driver struck them with his car at a crosswalk at the intersection of Telegraph Avenue and Parker Street a little before 5:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

On Monday, UCPD received report of a robbery via handgun that occurred on Parker Street and Fulton Street. The three suspects fled east on Parker Street.

Officers responded to a report Friday evening that a man brandished an ax at vehicles on Southside, according to a Nixle alert released by the Berkeley Police Department on Wednesday.

An armed robbery occurred at Parker Street and Benvenue Avenue on Sunday evening, according to a UCPD email.

The Berkeley Fire Department, or BFD, is actively responding to a residential fire, according to BFD spokesperson Officer Keith May.

Berkeley City Council is scheduled to vote on referring a plan for installing additional street lighting to areas surrounding campus to the Public Works Commission at its regular meeting Feb. 25.

The Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, responded to an attempted armed robbery near the intersection of Parker Street and College Avenue about 8:59 p.m. Thursday, according to a Nixle alert sent out by UCPD.

Overall retail usage in Berkeley’s commercial districts has declined from 44.8 percent to 39.4 percent in just three years, according to the city’s Office of Economic Development.
